SAS Summer 2021 – A Gift from the Mountain
Dates for our June day camps have been set and we are moving safely full-steam ahead with a new residential sleep-away camp in July for boys and girls ages 10-17 (rising 5th-12th graders).
With our COVID-19 protocols firmly established, SAS Summer Overnight Camp runs July 2-18 for a fun-filled 17 days on the Mountain, including Independence Day celebrations. Your child will experience a one-of-a-kind summer in Sewanee with elements of our Youth Folk Camp – music, farming, art (pottery and visual arts) – combined with additional specialty sessions in dance; American Sign Language; culinary arts; mountain biking; high adventure (includes climbing, hiking and caving); a week of waterfalls and swimming holes; vertical gardens and a tiny home container build; computer tech skills; and woodworking. Traditional summer camp activities abound in the afternoons and evenings – fun at the Res including swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding and kayaking, hiking, fishing, sports, arts and crafts, yoga, group games, open gym, Union hangouts, library chill time, field trips, bonfires, dances, music jams, and more.
